ETM 3020 - Computer Graphics


Study and application of advanced computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) systems using parametric modeling principles. Includes the development of product models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and analysis models to generate multiple product variations, and data translation issues between competing software. Lab activities based upon commercial CAD/CAE software.

Requisites: ET 1100 and ETM 3010 and advanced standing in ETM
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory

Learning Outcomes:
  • Demonstrate competence importing/exporting models between different CAD software.
  • Demonstrate competence generating detail, assembly, and isometric exploded drawings.
  • Demonstrate competence integrating CAD generated documents into a text document.
  • Demonstrate competence using a PC based solids modeling software.
  • Demonstrate competence using advanced features of a PC based 3D parametric modeling software.
