LING 4520 - Technology Enhanced Language Teaching II


TELT II is a project-based course that emphasizes instructional design and user experience approaches to the development of online/hybrid courses and educational products/platforms that focus on student/user engagement, creativity, digital citizenship and digital age learning experiences from linguistics/applied linguistics perspectives.

Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to identify, describe, and apply learning theories and best practices for designing effective online/hybrid courses.
  • Students will be able to compare and contrast different technologies in terms of benefits, challenges, and pedagogical uses in teaching languages.
  • Students will be able to integrate appropriate technologies into language curriculum/course design, syllabus design, and class lessons.
  • Students will be able to collaborate in instructional design teams.
