LPA 4710 - Social Entrepreneurship


Social entrepreneurship, a rapidly growing sector locally, nationally, and globally, entails the pursuit of innovative approaches to creating and delivering public value by solving persistent social problems. This course is designed to expose students to the theoretical and practical fundamentals of social entrepreneurship in institutional, organizational, and social domains.

Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Ability to distinguish between conditions that lead to effective and sustainable social entrepreneurship.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the concepts, opportunities, and challenges of social entrepreneurship.
  • Understand the role of social entrepreneurship in creating innovative solutions to critical social, economic, and environmental problems.
