ML 4645 - Teaching of Modern Foreign Languages
Study, demonstration, and use of methods and materials for effective modern foreign language instruction. Required of majors who plan to teach foreign languages.
Requisites: FR 3120 or GER 3120 or SPAN 3120
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
- Design and implement evaluation and assessment tools.
- Develop lessons and materials in accordance with ACTFL standards.
- Understand terminology pertinent to second language language acquisition theories.
- Use techniques for behavior and time management in the 7-12 classroom.
- Use understanding of methods and theories to develop appropriate instructional methods and materials.
- The successful student will be familiar with historical and current methodologies of foreign language instruction.
