MUS 1011 - Music Theory Non-Majors I
Melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic principles of music and its notation.
Requisites: Non-music major and ability to read music; WARNING: No credit for MUS 1009 if this course taken

Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to relate harmonies functionally to a given key.
- Students will become thoroughly familiar with the fundamentals of pitch and rhythmic notation.
- Students will recognize and write scales, intervals, triads, and seventh chords.
- Students will understand and be able to demonstrate basic principles of harmonic voice leading.
