Lab and lecture experiences for teaching physical education in elementary school for early childhood majors.

Learning Outcomes:
  • In a group teaching setting the student will demonstrate an ability to increase practice opportunities by providing a variety of movement experiences designed to obtain a given instructional objective.
  • In a group teaching situation the students will be able to effectively communicate skill information, verbally, visually, combining verbal and visual by means of structuring the environment.
  • The student will demonstrate, in writing, the ability to create modified games and basic movement patterns to obtain specific instructional objectives.
  • The student will demonstrate a sensitivity to individual differences by selecting appropriate activities and teaching methods when planning lessons.
  • The students will be able to observe accurately evaluate the fundamental motor skills determining the generic level of skill proficiency of elementary age students.
