PETE 3700 - Methods of Teaching Adolescent and Young Adult Physical Education & Health


This course is designed to refine the teaching methodology of pre-service teachers in physical education and health education (6th-12th grade). Pre-service teachers learn best teaching practices, principles and theories for planning, instruction, and assessment. Knowledge is applied within clinical placements under the supervision of clinical educators and mentor teachers. Preservice teachers analyze teaching effectiveness through reflective practices and clinical evaluations.

Requisites: C or better in PETE 2330. Take concurrently with EDSE 3500.
Credit Hours: 5
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture, 4.0 laboratory
