REC 3490 - Recreation Administration


Administration, management, and leadership concepts and theories. Foundations of management, principles and procedures of human resource management, understanding of the principles and procedures of budgeting and financial management, and legal foundations.

Requisites: REC 2010 and 2150 and 2750
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

  • Students will be able to obtain applied experiences in recreation administration.
  • Students will be able to describe the following related to recreation, park resources, and leisure services: Contracts and tort law and Regulatory agents and methods of compliance.
  • Students will be able to identify the fundamental principles and procedures of management.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate the principles and procedures of budgeting and financial management.
