SASM 4110 - International Sport Management


This course provides relevant theoretical and practical insights from which an undergraduate student can develop a broader awareness and perspective in understanding international sport organizations and business and the practice of business as it intersects with the practice of international sport.

Requisites: SASM 1001 or SASM 1010
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to explain strategic marketing principles in the context of international sports and evaluate future trends and opportunities of global brands.
  • Students will be able to apply key concepts and critical issues learned through global sports case studies.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate your knowledge about the Olympic Games and it’s ecosystem of international federations, committees and professional leagues.
  • Students will be able to recognize various cultural, political and financial factors that affect the organization of an international sports competition.
  • Students will be able to discuss the importance of globalization and its impact on the sport industry.
