THAR 1111 - Fundamentals of Performance II


A continued implementation of basic acting values. Fundamentals of acting, voice and movement are expanded. Text analysis, the reality of doing, character, action, and objective are explored through exercises, monologues, and scene work.

Requisites: Theater major
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

  • Analyze and breakdown a play script.
  • Identify and communicate basic elements of play structure.
  • Identify the attributes of a fictional character.
  • Integrate public solitude, previous circumstance, beats, and playable actions into scene and monologue work.
  • Portray a fictional character.
