REAL 1030 - Real Estate Law


Real Estate Law and all legal areas which impact real estate professionals are explored. Students examine the law of agency as applied to real estate brokers and sales personnel, law of fixtures, estates, conveyancing of real estate, mortgages and liens, license laws of Ohio, and zoning.

Requisites: REAL 1010
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to identify and describe the types of legal ownership of real estate in Ohio.
  • Students will be able to describe the types of real property estates in Ohio.
  • Students will be able to explain housing regulations in Ohio.
  • Students will be able to examine and interpret the key elements of real estate contract law in Ohio.
  • Students will be able to explain estates and interests in land.
  • Students will be able to analyze real estate law and apply comprehension through case studies.
