TAS 3210 - Evidence-Based Leadership Decision-Making


Applying an evidenced-based methodology, students learn the importance of scientific literature, practitioner input, stakeholder considerations, and the use of organizational data for optimizing important workplace decisions. The value of this approach to leadership decision making and evaluating the outcome of that decision is discussed.

Requisites: One of the following statistics courses (ATCH 2090 or MATH 1060 or or MATH 1500 or MATH 2500 or MATH 250 or PSY 1110 or 2110 or QBA 2010) and one BRICKS Foundation Advanced Writing course.
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture

  • Students will be able to identify the four sources of information for an evidence-based approach to decision making.

  • Students will be able to appraise a research article for its effectiveness.
  • Students will be able to integrate the components of the evidenced-based approach into a proposal.
  • Students will be able to confirm their ability to aggregate and apply evidence in a decision-making process.
