ENGT 2170 - Computer Numerical Control Machining Principles


This course covers the study and application of advanced metal machine tool practices including the programming and operation of computer numerical controlled (CNC) milling and lathe equipment.

Requisites: ET 1100 and ENGT 1190
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture, 4.0 laboratory

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to integrate CAD with CNC machines to produce parts.
  • Students will be able to create a finished good by programming and operating CNC equipment.
  • Students will be able to describe application of transducers and programmable controllers.
