SASM 4450 - Sport Ticket Sales and Revenue Streams


This course examines the many sources of revenue that drive the sport industry at the professional and intercollegiate levels including media rights, sponsorships, stadium game day, and a specific focus on the process and implementation of effective ticket selling.

Requisites: SASM 1001 or SASM 1010
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to explain the streams of revenue relevant across the sport industry within a strategic framework.
  • Students will be able to discuss the role that traditional and emerging media play in the sport revenue ecosystem.
  • Students will be able to discuss the underpinnings of effective partnerships between sport properties and sponsors.
  • Students will be able to identify ways to activate and measure sport sponsorships.
  • Students will be able to identify basic consumer psychology principles related with selling sport products.
  • Students will be able to explain sport organization ticket policies, procedures, and box office operations.
