LJC 4911 - Legal Internship Seminar in Law, Justice & Culture


This seminar course serves to prepare students interested in a career in law and provide supplemental instruction to students enrolled in LJC 4910. The seminar provides students an opportunity for additional instruction, discussion, and reflection related to their practical internship experiences and assistance with challenging and ethical issues that students may encounter in their internships.

Requisites: 3.0 GPA and (Soph or Jr or Sr) and LJC 4910 concurrent and Permission required
Credit Hours: 1
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 seminar
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will apply academic legal theories to legal practice in a professional setting.
  • Students will effectively describe the challenges of legal practice in a professional setting.
  • Students will identify and describe strategies for dealing with ethical challenges in legal practice in a professional setting.
  • Students will identify and describe the roles of various legal actors in justice institutions.
