MUS 4591 - Advanced Choral Conducting


Students develop advanced conducting skills, including philosophy and leadership, score study and analysis, interpretation and rehearsal skills, and movement and conducting technique. Application includes opportunities for chamber and large ensemble conducting.

Requisites: MUS 4561 and permission required
Credit Hours: 2
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture

  • Students will be to able to explain their conducting philosophy.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate clarity of manual conducting technique and musical intent.
