THAR 4810 - Actor-Musicianship Workshop


Advanced acting and performance skills. The acting vocabulary is expanded to include the understanding and application of interdisciplinary methods and approaches to actor-musicianship. Physical approaches and techniques are integrated.

Requisites: THAR 3810 and Actor Musicianship: Music Focus or Actor Musicianship: Theater Focus certificate student
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 studio, 2.0 laboratory

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to identify the creators, concepts and historical events that contributed to the development of actor-musicianship performance, as well as the resultant repertoire.
  • Students will be able to articulate a working definition of their actor-musicianship practices.
  • Students will be able to implement their practices in exploration of ensemble actor-musicianship performance.
  • Students will be able to implement their practices in exploration of solo actor-musicianship performance.
  • Students will be able to implement their practices in exploration of collaborative duet or scene actor-musicianship performance.
