NRSE 1102 - Professional Essentials and Applications of Clinical Judgment I
Introduces the factors that distinguish nursing as a profession. Historical and contemporary influences on professional nursing practice are discussed. Characteristics and major changes in healthcare delivery systems (federal, state, and local) are introduced. The role of the nurse in today’s interdisciplinary healthcare environment is examined. Strategies to promote success in the nursing program are introduced.
Credit Hours: 2
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to identify core values and concepts, derived from theories from nursing and other disciplines, which distinguish the practice of nursing.
