NRSE 3202 - Professional Essentials and Applications of Clinical Judgment V
Symptoms of moral distress, compassion fatigue, and burnout in healthcare workers are examined. Self-care behaviors that promote wellness and resiliency are identified. The scope and nature of workplace violence will be discussed. Identification of policies that reduce workplace violence and injury are reviewed. Resources for healthcare workers who have experienced trauma, loss and/or grief in the workplace are identified. Clinical reasoning and clinical judgment will be utilized as they relate to the content.
Requisites: NRSE 3102, 3112, 3122

Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to identify symptoms of moral distress, compassion fatigue, and burnout in healthcare.
- Students will be able to identify strategies and policies to mitigate the risk of workplace violence and injury.
- Students will be able to identify resources for healthcare workers who have experienced trauma, loss, and/or grief in the workplace.
- Students will be able to apply clinical reasoning and clinical judgment as it relates to content delivered in pre- and co-requisite nursing courses.
