DATA 4510 - Data Programs Capstone


The culminating experience for the Bachelor of Data Analytics prepares students for problem-solving challenges with data and expressing knowledge in oral and written formats. In doing so, students demonstrate integration, reflection, and application of data analytics content knowledge.

Requisites: MATH 2530 and Sr
Credit Hours: 3
OHIO BRICKS Capstone: Capstone or Culminating Experience
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to identify appropriate analytic tools for solving a problem.
  • Students will be able to evaluate shortcomings in an analysis of data and, when possible, use those findings to improve the analysis.
  • Students will be able to formulate conclusions that are supported by an analysis of data.
  • Students will be able to apply methods of analysis and associated findings in writing.
  • Students will be able to make recommendations and conclusions using data.
  • Students will be able to create visualizations that represent data.
  • Students will be able to articulate ethical dilemmas associated with data in today’s complex world.
  • Students will be able to critically reflect on their development as a data analyst by building on their previous experiences to solve problems in new and challenging data entangled situations.
