ETM 4500 - Advanced Project Management


Students learn and practice with advanced concepts and strategies in project management with case-study approaches. The course focuses on agile strategies, change management, team building, critical communication, risk management, and leading complex projects.

Requisites: ETM 3820
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to apply principles and processes of project management in complex project life cycles.
  • Students will be able to apply agile strategies in the process based on the understanding of roles and challenges of agile components.
  • Students will be able to synthesize the threats and opportunities of internal and external factors in the creation of project-level and enterprise-level risk management.
  • Students will be able to monitor and analyze the impact of internal and external changes, and apply the results in decision-making processes.
  • Students will be able to assess the impact of leadership on social, economic, and environmental factors that contribute to sustainability in project management.
  • Students will be able to apply professional team building practices in project management.
