ENG 3960 - Creative Writing Workshop: Fiction II
Upper-division instruction and practice in fiction writing, with attention to the work of contemporary and canonical writers and a focus on craft. Students create and revise original works of fiction with an eye toward publication beyond the classroom.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to create new works of fiction that refine their independent literary voice.
- Students will be able to connect their lived experience with their literary practice.
- Students will be able to utilize literary strategies in fiction and connect and adapt them to other types of writing.
- Students will be able to assess works-in-progress and communicate their feedback.
- Students will be able to articulate and apply approaches for improving works-in-progress.
- Students will be able to apply feedback to revise works in progress.
- Students will be able to reflect on the nature and purpose of their work and their ongoing development as writers.
- Students will be able to develop their work in light of the publishing standards found in contemporary American literary culture.
