THAR 2130 - Acting Fundamentals II


Study of acting and the actor from the point of view of strengthening concentration and commitment to performance tasks; introduces principles of text and character. Fundamentals of voice and movement are expanded.

Requisites: THAR 1110 or 1111 or 1130
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory

Learning Outcomes:
  • Demonstrate the ability to explore and create character.
  • Identify and communicate basic elements of play structure.
  • Identify and integrate previous circumstance, beats, playable actions, and the pursuit of an objective to scene work.
  • Utilize effective tools in approaching rehearsal and performance.
