ART 2110 - Digital Art + Technology I
This is an introductory course where students learn techniques, technologies, and tools to create digital fine artwork in a contemporary context. Students explore ways that artists have used creative digital imaging as expressive modes for artmaking. Students participate in critique and critical analysis of digital artwork with the goal of generating a personal, individualized approach to making digital artworks and physical fabrications.
Requisites: One course from ART 1200, ART 1210, ART 1220 or ART 1230; OR One VICO or MDIA 2000-level studio course; OR two courses from MDIA 1250, MDIA 1300, MDIA 1350, MDIA 1450
Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 4.0 studio

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to independently create artwork with sequencing tools and dynamic digital composition.
- Students will be able to articulate an understanding of techniques and tools used to create digital artwork in the context of contemporary art.

- Students will be able to express a unique creative voice and a personal approach to using digitally based artwork as an expressive tool.
