Overview
The B.A. degree offered through Classics comprises two tracks, reflecting the range of interests in the field, classical languages and classical civilization. Each track requires a different balance of study in courses in the Greek and Latin and languages and courses in classical civilization. The B.A. degree with a major in religious studies incorporates several distinct emphasis areas, reflecting the modern range of interest in the field.
The Department offers courses in Greek (GK), Latin (LAT), and Classics and Religious Studies (CARS). Although there is no specific major in archaeology or classical culture and literature, the classical civilization major offers the opportunity to concentrate in either area. The religious studies major also offers a wide choice of coursework, on which to build an individual course of study. Additionally, the Department has a tradition of offering study-abroad opportunities. Please reach out to the departmental contacts listed above for more information on upcoming study-abroad opportunities.
