Class of 2025 Pathways to Health and Wellness Curriculum

All Heritage College medical students begin their medical education with Osteopathic Approach to Patient Care 1, which focuses on wellness. Each week students are provided with learning objectives, outcomes, and preparatory materials to direct study, activate prior experience and knowledge, and identify areas for growth.

Education topic to be emphasized are identified and presented via a patient case and guide the integrated learning activities throughout the week. Activities include integrated learning labs, osteopathic patient care skills, simulated experiences and early clinical experiences. A reporting phase will allow for reflection and assimilation in a small-group format. 

The Pathways to Health and Wellness Curriculum requires a minimum of 212 credits.

Years Three and Four

The following courses are open to all third- and fourth-year osteopathic medical students.

Year Three Summer

During the summer prior to the third year, all students must take OCOM 7902 and one of the required rotations.

Internal Medicine Subspeciality

Students must choose 16 credits from the following courses

Selective Surgery

Students must choose 8 credits from the following courses.

Year Three and Four - Elective Rotations

Students must choose 66 credits from the following courses
