Program Overview
The minor in communication studies offers students an opportunity to learn the foundations of communication in various contexts including cultural, group, and interpersonal contexts. Students extend their study through the selection of electives.

Opportunities Upon Graduation
Graduates with minors in communication studies have competency sets that increase the likelihood of successful socialization in their career organizations. The competency sets include oral and relational communication, critical thinking and problem-solving, and adaptation skills. Empirical research on socialization indicates that strong communication skills increase positive socialization experiences.
