Creating and joining a Microsoft Teams meeting, live event, or webinar

There are multiple ways to meet in Microsoft Teams. This article teaches you how to create a meeting space, join a meeting, and participate in breakout rooms during the meeting.

Solution 

Create a Teams meeting, live event, or webinar 

1. First, you must decide if a Microsoft Teams meeting, live event, or webinar  best suits your individual needs.

2. Schedule your meeting

   • Schedule a Teams meetings and invite others

     • You can also  schedule Teams meetings using Outlook

   • Schedule a Teams live event

   • Schedule a Teams webinar

     • If you need to edit the details of your webinar after you've already scheduled it, you can  change Teams webinar details  at any time.

   • Additionally, you can  start an impromptu meeting in a chat or channel

3. Configure your meeting options  in order to keep your meetings secure 

Join a Teams meeting

1. You can join a Teams meeting in a variety of ways:

   • Join a Teams meeting from a shared link

   • Join a Teams meeting from your calendar

   • Join a Teams meeting from a chat or channel

   • Call into a Teams meeting

Create and participate in breakout rooms

1. Create and manage breakout rooms during class meetings  (for instructors)

2. Participate in a breakout room  (for students)
