Accessing Go OHIO

Go OHIO is a free application that can be accessed via your web browser or by downloading the mobile app.

Customizing Go OHIO

How do I customize the appearance and accessibility features?

You can adjust font size and accessibility features in the Go OHIO app. To begin:

  1. Select the person icon in the app.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select the desired Font size or Accessibility settings.

What is the difference between adding items to Favorites and My Menu ?

There are two methods to mark items for quick access in the Go OHIO app.

  • Favorites allows you to save specific pages noted with a star. This includes dates from the Academic Calendar link, individuals found via the Faculty & Staff Directory link, and locations identified via the Maps link.
  • My Menu allows you to add Menu items from Most Popular , Alphabetical Listing , and Student Resources for quick access . See How do I add items to customize My Menu ?” for details.

How do I add items to customize My Menu?

You can add Go OHIO app modules to My Menu for quick access. To customize My Menu :

  1. Select the Menulink in the app menu bar.
  2. On My Menu, select Customize.
  3. Select the “ +” next to any item you wish to add. These items will be removed from their original positions under Most Popular , Alphabetical Listing , or Student Resources.
  4. When you have added all of the desired menu items, select Backto view them in My Menu.

Note: My Menu items are not saved across devices or campus experiences. You must recreate this customization on other devices and within each campus experience used in Go OHIO.

How do I remove items from My Menu?

To remove items from My Menu:

  1. Select the Menu linkin the app menu bar
  2. On My Menu, select Customize.
  3. Select the “ -” next to any item you wish to remove.
  4. When you have removed all of the desired items, select Backto return to My Menu.

How do I add items to Favorites?

You can favorite individual pages from the Academic Calendar, Faculty & Staff Directory, and Maps (Athens Campus) for future quick access.

To add items to your  Favorites:

  • From the Academic Calendar
  1. Select the Menulink > Academic Calendar.
  2. Select the specific item you would like to add to your Favorites.
  3. Select the "star" to add this item.
  4. Select Favoritesin the menu bar to view the item in your Favorites.
  • From the Faculty & Staff Directory link
  1. Select the Menulink > Faculty & Staff Directory.
  2. Search for the desired faculty or staff member. Enter the full surname for best results.
  3. Select the entry you would like to favorite.
  4. Select the specific item you would like to add to your Favorites.
  5. Select the star”to add this item.
  6. Select Favoritesin the menu bar to view the item in your Favorites.
  • From the Maps link
  1. Select the Mapslink from the Go OHIO home page.
  2. Select  View Full Athens Campus Map.
  3. Select the campus location you would like to favorite.
  4. Select the star”to add this item.
  5. Select Favoritesin the menu bar to view the item in your Favorites.

Note: Favorites are not saved across devices or campus experiences. You must recreate this customization on other devices and within each campus experience used in Go OHIO.

How do I adjust notifications?

To adjust notifications settings in the Go OHIO app:

  1. Select the person icon in the app.
  2. Select Settings
  3. Navigate to Location and Persona.
  4. Select Push Notifications Settings.

Using Specific Go OHIO Features

What is My Student Dashboard?

My Student Dashboard is a page in the Go OHIO app that allows you to view personal information including your class schedule, GPA, advisors, and account balances (student account, meal plan, and Bobcat Cash). 

You may need to log in to My OHIO Student Center  to take additional action on information found on the Student Dashboard.

How do I save events to my personal calendar?

You can add events to your personal calendar from the Academic Calendar and from your Weekly Schedule on the Student Dashboard. You will find platform-specific instructions for each of these tasks in the  Adding Events from Go OHIO to Your Personal Calendar article.  Please note that you may first need to grant Go OHIO access to your calendar via your device settings.

How do I view my current location on the campus map?

First ensure that the Go OHIO app has access to your location via your device settings.

To view your current location:

  1. From the Go OHIO home page, select the Maps link.
  2. In the lower right-hand corner of the map, select the arrow or compass symbol.
  3. Your screen will adjust and show a blue dot for your current location.

How can I view information in my web browser instead of the Go OHIO app?

You can access many OHIO pages found in the Go OHIO app in your device’s web browser.

Where available, select the shareicon (up arrow) in the lower right of a page to open it in the device browser.

Why do I need to log in to other systems like Blackboard or the My OHIO Student Center when I am already logged into the Go OHIO app?

To protect your data, your Blackboard and My OHIO Student Center sessions are set to time out. You will be prompted to log back into these systems the next time you access them from the Go OHIO app.
