This documentation covers how to create recordings with Panopto and submit them as assignments in Canvas.

Canvas in your web browser or the Canvas Student app
Solution
Add your Panopto Recording to a Canvas Assignment
- Log in to Canvas at canvas.ohio.edu
- Navigate to your course in Canvas
- In the white Course Navigation menu, select and then to the Assignments
- Select the assignment that you need to submit
- On the submission page, select the plug icon to expand the menu
- Select Panopto Video.
- Select the appropriate option for your submission
Note: If you have not previously made your Blackboard Panopto available in Canvas you will need to complete the steps in Sharing Panopto Content between Blackboard and Canvas
before choosing a video.
- Select Upload
- Select the video to embed (up to 100 video or audio files at a time)
- Under Video Embed Options
, choose your embedded player preferences

Select Insert
- Record a new video
- Select Record
- Under Name your recording
,
add a title for your video
- Select Launch Capture or Launch App to record with Panopto for Windows
or Panopto for Mac
- Update you recording preferences for Audio
, Video
, and Screens and Apps
- After recording your video, return to the Canvas tab in your brower
- Under Video Embed Options
, choose your embedded player preferences
- Select Insert
- Your video will appear in the assignment text editor.
- Complete the rest of the assignment
- Select Submit Assignment
- You will receive a message at the top of the screen that your assignment has been successfully submitted. Your teacher will now be able to watch your Panopto recording.
Outcome: Your Panopto video has been submitted.
