Description
You can import courses, modules, assignments, quizzes, discussions, pages, or files from Commons into your Canvas course.
Please note:Content imported through Commons retains the published/unpublished status of the item when it was originally shared. If you import a published resource, that resource will be published in your course.
Environment
Canvas in your web browser.
Solution
Note:
Commons currently does not support sharing/importing question banks associated with a quiz. New Quizzes cannot be shared via Commons, however, they can be shared with individuals directly from within Canvas.
- Log in to Canvas at canvas.ohio.edu
.
- In Global Navigation, select the Commonslink.
- Locate a resource by using the search field. You can also filter search results by approved content, type of content, grade/level, and sharing settings.
- To view resource details, select the resource title.
- To import or download the resource, select the Import/Downloadbutton.
- Search for the course(s) into which you would like to import the resource (or) select the course(s) from the list.
- Select the Import into Coursebutton to add the resource to your course(s). To download and save a copy of the file to your computer, select the Downloadbutton.
- View the import status notification at the top of your screen. Please note that it may take several minutes to see the changes in your course.
- To view imported resources other than a course, navigate to the feature area (e.g., Modules, Assignments, Quizzes, Discussions, Pages, or Files) in Course Navigation.
Outcome:You should now be able to locate and utilize shared resources in Canvas Commons.
