Solution 

Managed Windows Machines:

A managed computer refers to a computer that requires an OHIO log-in to access the computer.

  1. Open Software Centervia the Windows button.

  2. Search and install VMware Horizon Client.

  3. When the installation finishes, you may be asked to restart your machine.

  4. Launch VMware Horizon Client: Double-click the desktop icon or use Start Menu.

  5. Select  Add Server and enter  mydesktop.ohio.edu as the  Connection Server name.

Unmanaged Windows Machines:

An unmanaged computer refers to a computer that does not require an OHIO log-in to access the computer. 

  1. Download and install VMware Horizon Client for Windows from  VMWare's client download site  by clicking 'Go to Downloads' under the Windows section.

  2. On the next page click Download Now

  3. When the installation finishes, you may be asked to restart your machine.

  4. After the installation, launch the VMware Horizon Clientdesktop app by double-clicking its desktop shortcut icon or by going to the  Windows Start Menu and choosing  VMware |  Horizon Client.

  5. Select  Add Server and enter  mydesktop.ohio.edu as the  Connection Server name.

Outcome: You will be able to access VDI from the Horizon client installed on your Windows device.
