Ohio University’s Army ROTC Program – the Bobcat Battalion – is preparing to conduct a Primary Marksmanship Instruction Lab on the Athens Campus next month that will include a visit and speech from Col. Lance Oskey, 7th Brigade Cadet Commander.
Col. Oskey’s presence and speech is of great importance to the cadets and cadre at Ohio University as he commands all Army ROTC Battalions within the 7th Brigade, which is headquartered in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and includes Army ROTC programs located in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
The Primary Marksmanship Instruction Lab is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, and will take place at OHIO’s Ping Recreation Center and Peden Stadium. The lab will consist of the Col. Oskey’s speech, scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Ping Recreation Center, as well as several stations in which the cadets will learn the basic marksmanship fundamentals, assembly and reassembly, and how to complete a functions check.
