2019 Majors Fair is Oct. 2

Once students decide where to attend college, some find it difficult to pick their major. While many students enter college with their majors declared in business, education, communication, or various arts and sciences, others enter as undecided and take classes that enable them to explore possible majors.

Luckily for undecided students at Ohio University, they can find the information they need at the annual Majors Fair.

University College will host the annual Majors Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Baker University Center Ballroom.

Students can investigate the more than 250 majors offered at OHIO and learn about minors and certificates as well. There will be deans and other faculty members from most of the programs to provide information and answer any questions the students might have.

“The Majors Fair is designed to help students begin their exploration process,” said University College Assistant Dean for Advising and Student Services Ebony Green. “Choosing a major is about finding a curriculum that sparks passion and desire to learn. We hope students come to the fair with an open mind and engage with Ohio University’s amazing faculty and staff.”

Green’s objective is for students who attend the Majors Fair to gain a better understanding of themselves and their path.

Current students, as well as prospective and transfer students, are encouraged to attend the Majors Fair. Undergraduate Admissions staff members will be on hand to answer any questions students might have related to admissions.

“We look forward to welcoming not only current students who are exploring possible majors, but also prospective students who are looking at the paths available to them at Ohio University,” said University College Assistant Director for Advising and Student Services Cristy Null. Null encourages students to be prepared with questions that they may have about majors that interest them.
