The heart and soul of Ohio University and a proud Bobcat Nation shines brightly year-round, but never more so than Homecoming, when the OHIO community near and far comes together for a week filled with that “OU, Oh Yeah!” spirit.

Homecoming Week 2022 provided the OHIO community both in-person and virtual opportunities to remember, rediscover and reconnect with each other and the place that will forever be home.

"Bobcat alumni travel from all around the world to come home for just a few moments on the red bricks of Athens,” said Jenn Shutt Bowie, BSJ ’94, MS ’99, interim associate vice president of alumni relations and executive director of the Ohio University Alumni Association. “The feelings that being here evoke were, perhaps, put best by Robb Roby, BSME ’94, who played trumpet in the Marching 110 and shared on Facebook a photo of a banner he encountered as he walked the campus.”

“'You’ll remember this walk forever.' Truer words have never been written (or spoken),” Roby wrote. “Walking the bricks in the crisp fall air, with the leaves changing, brought back many memories and invoked a lot of emotions and feelings. It’s crazy how it all comes rushing back, even after 30 years. As much as Ohio University changes, some things stay constant. The commitments to legacy and tradition and work ethic remain evident in the Marching 110’s performances.”

From packing the pantry in support of Bobcats and area residents and packing the stands of Peden Stadium to honoring this year’s Alumni Award winners and lining the streets of campus and community for the Homecoming Parade and “The Most Exciting Band in the Land,” Homecoming Week 2022 was one to remember.
