The College of Health Sciences and Professions mission to “Serve. Solve. Succeed.” is directly reflected in the awards presented to its faculty members, students and student organizations. The 2023 CHSP Spring Awards, which will take place Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m., will celebrate those who make the college’s mission a reality.
The awards for student organizations reflect the colleges mission to “serve.”
“Student organizations help our students feel a belonging to the college, and they also provide important service to our communities,” said Sally Marion-Fetty, senior associate dean of CHSP who will serve as the master of ceremonies for the night’s event.
Further emphasis on the CHSP’s mission to serve will be represented by the Randy Leite Community Engagement Award, which embodies the college’s mission of serving the community.
The awards for faculty members represent CHSP’s mission to “solve.”
Faculty members are dedicated to innovative and rigorous exploration of pedagogical approaches, techniques or environments. Faculty members are also engaged in innovative and rigorous research in health sciences and professions, in areas such as aging, chronic disease, wellness, human performance and more.
Finally, the awards for both students and faculty members represent CHSP’s mission to “succeed.”
“Our students are the reason we are here. We recognize their outstanding accomplishments whether related to academic performance, civic engagement, professionalism or leadership, to name a few,” Marion-Fetty said. The awards will recognize 37 students who have achieved outstanding success at CHSP.
“Helping our students succeed are the faculty members, the lifeblood of our college. It is their passion, hard work, and dedication that prepare our students to enter health care professions and make a difference for the individuals they will serve and the causes for which they will advocate,” Marion-Fetty said. “Tonight, we celebrate some deserving and outstanding accomplishments of our faculty members in teaching, advising, and mentoring.”
For CHSP, the recognition of faculty is critical, as it leads to continued student success in its programs. Faculty at CHSP work tirelessly to train future health care professionals. These faculty members teach students across six academic units in more than 65 different academic programs, both online and face-to-face.
