New Supervisory Skills Workshop—Resolving Workplace Conflict
(Deadline extended to Oct. 21 for the Oct. 22 workshop)
The fourth workshop in the Foundations of Supervision series, Resolving Workplace Conflict, will be available on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 2 to 4:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 9:30 a.m. to noon in Grosvenor West room #111. This workshop focuses on both the positives and negatives of conflict, and participants will explore conflict management styles, discern when conflict escalates, and situate themselves in their roles within conflict resolution by discussing perceived best practices and experimenting with tools and frameworks.
Future workshops in the series will include topics such as:
- Navigating Difficult Conversations
- Delegating and Managing Work
Workshops are in-person and scheduled for 2.5 hours. Participation is open to all full-time and part-time regular staff and faculty. Registration is required, and enrollment will be capped at 20 participants per workshop. There are no prerequisites, and participants are not required to attend every workshop in the series. Participants are asked to discuss the workshop with their supervisor and get approval prior to registering. New supervisors, or those aspiring to a supervisory role, are highly encouraged to attend.

Skillsoft: Percipio Update
Ohio University’s third-party learning platform, Pericpio , has recently been updated with a cleaner user interface and an updated library. OHIO faculty and staff have access to this resource for on-demand professional development opportunities. New features include:
- Role Advisor: by adding your role to your Percipio account, Percipio can help curate learning opportunities suited for your day-to-day work.
- Certification Prep Training: take courses that can help you work towards external professional certifications.
- Skill Benchmarks: take pre-learning assessments to determine your ability levels in tech- and skill-related fields.
