As we approach the end of the Fall 2024 semester, Ohio University will be conducting course evaluations through the Blue course evaluation system. This year’s evaluation period for full-semester courses and those ending at the end of the fall semester is Nov. 30 – Dec. 14, 2024.
Student feedback is vital to OHIO's continuous improvement efforts. Higher participation rates lead to more representative and actionable insights that benefit our entire academic community. All faculty and instructors are encouraged to actively promote the course evaluations to their students and emphasize the importance of their participation.
Support student participation
Faculty and instructors play a crucial role in encouraging students to complete their evaluations. Here are some ways to promote participation:
- Communicate early and often:Remind students about the evaluation period and its significance in enhancing their educational experience.
- Share the impact:Explain how past student feedback has led to positive changes in courses or teaching practices.
- Provide in-class opportunities:Allocate time during class for students to complete evaluations on their devices.
- Ensure accessibility:Guide students on how to access the evaluations via email or through the learning management system (Canvas or Blackboard).
