The Undergraduate Advising and Student Affairs Office assists students enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences with academic advising issues and acts as a referral agent to other departments. Advisers can help students with selecting majors, minors, & certificates, interpreting DARS, and developing graduation plans.

The Academic Advancement Center provides assistance in writing, mathematics, reading and study skills. A computer lab is available for research and has internet connections. Supplemental Instruction and Homework Hubs in selected courses is available. The AAC also provides tutoring referrals. All assistance is free to Ohio University students.
Counseling and Psychological Services

A staff of counselors and psychologists is available to provide students with confidential counseling and psychological therapy on an individual or group basis. Each year more than 1,200 students obtain assistance for a wide variety of personal, educational or career counseling. If students have personal problems of any kind (emotional, social, relationship, substance abuse, etc.), they offer help in better understanding and resolving problems. Students having educational difficulties can receive help in clarifying and resolving concerns.

Student Accessibility Services coordinates accommodations and connects students with disabilities to the most relevant campus resources. Accessibility coordinators review documentation and determine eligibility according to the framework of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Students who require services and accommodations must register with SAS by providing disability documentation in advance of need.

The Office of Global Opportunities provides information about study abroad, internships, work, and volunteer programs. Students may find, as many Ohio University students can attest, that an international educational experience can be the highlight of their college experience. Learning and living abroad can enhance students' understanding about other countries, peoples, and cultures, and may lead to discovering more about themselves.

The role of the Ombudsperson is to facilitate fair and equitable treatment of students, faculty, and staff within the University system. The Ombudsperson office can make inquiries on your behalf, help you make an informed response to your situation, mediate or facilitate discussions, and make recommendations for procedural or policy change.
