The Importance of Academic Advising

Your success adviser is an important resource for your success at Ohio University. Your adviser is knowledgeable about your major, as well as about college and University requirements. Advisers can help with graduation plans, course selection, provide information on internships through your department, discuss possible careers, and suggest graduate or professional schools. If advisers do not have an answer to your question, they can refer you to the appropriate office or person who can help you in that area. Students are required to meet with their advisers prior to enrollment each term to ensure they are making sufficient academic progress.
