How Do I Know if I Am a J-1 Sponsored Student?
If you received a DS-2019 form from an organization other than Ohio University, such as Fulbright, LASPAU, IIE, etc then you are considered a sponsored student. If you do not know who issued your DS-2019 form, refer to section 2 on the first page of your form to find your program sponsor.
Because Ohio University did not issue your DS-2019 form, we do not have access to your immigration record in SEVIS. Without access to your immigration record in SEVIS, we cannot provide you with detailed immigration advice or J-1 visa services. If you have questions about your visa, or if you need a service such as a travel signature or work authorization, you will need to contact your program sponsor for assistance.
