1 Ohio University
Athens, Ohio 45701
Fun Info:I have owned horses all my life and continue to show them and attending Copperhead baseball games.
What My Position Entails:Managing Kids on Campus, a group that works to provide afterschool and summer programming and support for at risk youth and their families in the region.
Why I Like My Job:It is rewarding to be able to work to assist families in our area, especially in the more rural areas where assistance can be hard to locate. I love seeing our kids learn new things and share experiences they might not otherwise have been able to enjoy. It is a pleasure to work with staff and faculty who share a passion for young people and assuring they have access to a positive future.
I Chose This Career Path Because:This is a second career for me, having retired from Ohio University previously. This is a very different path for me from the research compliance and laboratory support work I did previously, but I have a passion for working with youth and have worked as a volunteer with youth most of my life. Kids on Campus afforded me the opportunity to be able to give back to the region I was raised in while working with one of the most effective and long term University-Community partnerships.
My Professional Passion:Managing diverse and complicated programs through difficult issues.
