Summary of Work:
I study risk factors and clinical complications in patients with obesity, diabetes, and/or metabolic syndrome. My work implied that insulin resistance plays a key role in the development of complications such as cancer, cognitive dysfunction, and cardiovascular diseases in patients with obesity or diabetes. These findings might change the approach or priority of clinical care in these patients.
