Ohio University Men’s Ice Hockey announces Cole Bell as the new head coach for the 2019 season. Bell takes over for Sean Hogan as the 14 th head coach in program history.
“I am excited to welcome Cole to Ohio University,” said Mark Ferguson, executive director for Campus Recreation. “His passion and commitment to developing student-athletes, coupled with his coaching success made him an ideal candidate to lead the next chapter of OHIO Hockey.”
Bell spent the last two seasons as head coach for the University of Jamestown, taking the Jimmies to a 44-29-2 record and two appearances at the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 1 National Tournament.
“I am very excited to join the Ohio University community and lead the Bobcat Hockey program,” said Bell. “This program is rich with history and has the expectation of success.”
Bell played ACHA Division 1 Hockey for Lebanon Valley College, serving as a two-time team captain and MVP, ACHA Division 1 All-Star, and first team All-East Coast Hockey Association selection.
“I am looking forward to coaching in front of the energetic and passionate crowds at Bird Ice Arena, as well as working with the Blue Line Boosters and OHIO Hockey alumni on continuing to build a successful program,” Bell said.
