The OHIO International Consulting Program’s Virtual International Program (OICP’s VIP) provides Ohio University students with consulting experience as they solve meaningful business problems for an international corporate partner. Students who are interested must fill out the online application by April 5.
The OICP’s VIP is a 10-week-long project, taking place from May 10 - July 17. Students will work virtually, yet directly, with executives from Sogeti USA, one of the largest consulting companies in the world. Each student team will work with a faculty mentor and representatives from Sogeti.
Participants will receive six credit hours for completing the program, and it also meets the internship requirement for some students. The program satisfies College of Business internship and Global Perspectives requirements. Student should check with advisers to determine if this program meets their college’s internship requirement.
This summer’s virtual program will not require class meetings, but rather students will work independently on projects. Although virtual, OHIO students will be provided with the unique opportunity to work with international student partners from the Burgundy School of Business in France, University of Pécs in Hungary and Marche Polytechnic University in Italy. Students will also have the chance to showcase their skills for Sogeti, which has hired over 20 OICP alumni.
The program allows students to diversify their resume, work on a cross-cultural team, develop international cross-cultural management skills and create high-quality deliverables for a real business.
“OICP’s Virtual International Program allows students to have a transformative experience from the comfort of their home,” said Jamie Lambert, director of the OICP. “Students will meet their internship and global perspective requirements while working with student partners from France, Hungary and Italy.”
