OHIO vice president Shields joining Ohio Innovation Exchange webinar

Ohio University Vice President for Research and Creative Activity Joseph Shields is participating in the first of a new series of webinars being launched by the Ohio Innovation Exchange.

The Exchange, created by the Ohio Department of Higher Education in 2018 with OHIO as a founding member, is launching the webinars with OhioX, a nonprofit organization that promotes technology and innovation in Ohio.

Shields, a professor of physics and astronomy, will be joined for the first webinar by Charles See, vice chancellor at the Ohio Department of Higher Education, and Ohio State University professor Vicki Wysocki, Ohio Eminent Scholar, professor of chemistry and biochemistry and director of the Campus Chemical Instrumentation Center at OSU. The webinar, titled “ The Potential, Power and Payoff of University-Industry Collaborations across Ohio ,” will launch March 26. Click here to register .

“I am pleased to be a part of this webinar launch with the Ohio Innovation Exchange and OhioX,” Shields said. “Expanding engagement with other academic and private-sector partners is a key part of our agenda to grow research and innovation for the benefit of Ohio and beyond.”

The Ohio Innovation Exchange was founded to deliver research and innovation opportunities to both industry and Ohio’s academic institutions. The Exchange connects industry with faculty, students, equipment and facilities available at Ohio’s research universities. It makes academic resources available from multiple universities available in a single searchable web portal at www.ohioinnovationexchange.org .
