Tuesday, Nov. 16: International Education Week (IEW) Global Engagement Gala
This year, the IEW Gala is taking place both in-person and virtually. It will take place Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Baker University Center Ballroom. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Faculty, staff, alumni, and community members in the region who have exemplified excellence in global engagement through teaching, learning, research, outreach, and services will be celebrated.

Wednesday, Nov. 17: Global Perspectives on “Making Respect Visible”
Join a special conversation to discuss the ideas of Respect and Belonging through a global lens.
Global Perspectives on “Making Respect Visible” will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in Baker Ballroom, with a virtual option available. This hybrid event will foster dialogue and discussion to explore the question, "How can the OHIO community better understand, engage and support the international population?" Participants are invited to share their insights and experiences and connect.
The event is organized in partnership with the Division of Diversity and Inclusion, International Student Union, International Student and Faculty Services, and the Office of Global Affairs.

Thursday, Nov. 18: Maximizing Your OHIO Experience: Preparing for Global Opportunities
An informative lunch-hour virtual event, Maximizing Your OHIO Experience: Preparing for Global Opportunities , is being held during International Education Week from noon to 1 p.m. Learn about the resources that are available through Ohio University and the Ohio University Alumni Association regarding domestic and global opportunities.

Friday, Nov. 19: Africa@OHIO Colloquium with Dr. Lucky Wakantse-Odirile
As the world continues to struggle with COVID-19 scourge, it is evident that the Education sector is one of those greatly affected. In this Africa@OHIO Colloquium with Dr. Lucky Wakantse Odirile , from noon to 1 p.m., Odirile shares how the University of Botswana responded to COVID-19 challenges.
Odirile is the University of Botswana Director of Careers and Counselling Centre, where she oversees three units, counselling, careers, and job placement/graduate employability. In 2020 after COVID-19 was announced as an international crisis, Odirile was chosen to lead the University of Botswana Psychosocial and Mental Health team, which attended to the nation’s front liners’ mental health needs. She returns to Ohio University as the Robert and Rene Visiting Professor after her 2015 and 2020 recognitions as an outstanding scholar who has had significant impact and contribution in education. She has also received the George E Hill as well as trend setter awards.
