Ohio University’s Patton College of Education, along with the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) and the Holmes Council, has organized a free four-part series of conversations designed to explore the leadership trajectories and experiences of various individuals connected to the field of education.
The first session will focus on “Leadership Lessons: A Conversation with Established Leaders” on Monday, Jan. 31, from 6 – 8:00 p.m.
Speakers will include Dr. Renée A. Middleton, former Dean of The Patton College of Education, and Dr. Lynn M. Gangone, AACTE President & CEO. The moderator will be Holmes Council President Oumarou Abdoulaye Balarabe.
The Session One take-aways will include:
- Key lessons learned from established leaders
- How to avoid the pitfalls of leadership
- Developing strategies for resiliency
- Opportunities to engage and ask questions about leadership.

- “A Conversation on Leadership Lessons with Leaders of Professional Organizations,” Monday, March 28, 6 - 8:00 p.m.
- “A Conversation on Leadership Lessons with Holmes Scholars/Students of Color in Leadership,” Monday, April 25, 6 - 8:00 p.m.
