Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Elizabeth Sayrs has announced a national search for the next dean of the College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP).
The search committee is chaired by Associate Professor and Interim Director of the School of Nursing Char Miller and Dean of the Scripps College of Communication Scott Titsworth. Additional committee members represent an array of University stakeholders including faculty, staff, and students.
One of the ten largest health-centric colleges in the United States, the College of Health Sciences and Professions has a number of nationally ranked programs, an impressive portfolio of both University and industry partnerships, and a deep commitment to community engagement and public health.
“The CHSP dean will continue to build strategic partnerships,” Provost Sayrs said. “Internally, collaboration with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, Scripps College of Communication, and other academic units is critical. Externally, relationships with Adena Health System, Genesis Healthcare System, Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, and many others are key to the college’s success. Engaging alumni and friends to support faculty and students also will be essential.”
In lieu of a search firm, University Human Resources Strategic Search Services will conduct the search. The position posting has been live since May 26, active recruiting measures will continue throughout summer, and the committee will convene early September to review preliminary applications.
All nominations, applications, and inquiries are welcome. Nominations and outreach suggestions are encouraged and may be submitted online or directly to Cat Russell at russelc4@ohio.edu . For additional details, please refer to the opportunity profile .
