Ohio University instructors teaching during the summer semester are invited to request consultations from Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment staff and collaborators, including the Office of Instructional Innovation , Office of Instructional Technology , University Libraries , Experiential Learning and the Center for Campus and Community Engagement .
Consultations assist instructors in preparing to teach courses or address teaching challenges along the way. They also offer a time to simply collaborate around ideas for improving student learning. Consultation topics include, among others:
- Syllabus construction
- ChatGPT and AI course policies
- Experiential Learning and BRICKS Learning & Doing Course Development
- Effective use of a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Classroom management
- Strategies for teaching efficiently
- Assignment/activity design
- Assessing student learning
- Inclusive pedagogy/building a sense of belonging
- Active learning strategies (i.e., flipped classrooms, case studies, problem-based learning)
- Teaching large-enrollment courses
- Selecting instructional technologies
- Identifying themes in student feedback to improve instruction
- Community-engaged teaching and learning and C-course development
